PRACTICE TIP: SICK ECONOMY - HEALTHY PRACTICE

Have you been experiencing a down trend in new patients or in patients accepting treatment since the economy took a turn for the worse?

The fear caused by the continuing drumbeat of bad news may be worse than the actual economic scene itself. On the other hand, people do have a very real fear of possibly losing their jobs, or if business owners, making much less money then they did before, or of going out of business completely. 

The fact is people are scared and when one is scared one may not make the best decisions.  People need good dental health care.  As you well know, if a patient puts off treatment they may well be setting themselves up for an emergency situation, not only in their mouths but in other vital organs as well.

It’s your job to get them into your practice, and once in, to get them onto the care they need despite the bad economy.  This creates more healthy patients and more money in your pocket.

Easier said than done? 

It all boils down to using correct communication, whether it’s in advertising or right there in your case presentation.

Take a close look at every step – from your advertising, to how the front desk handles new patient calls, how you yourself handle case presentation, etc. It’s a certainty you’ll see ways to improve them.
